Villa Celimontana Jazz

The "Jazz and Image at Villa Celimontana" jazz festival was created in 1994 to start the Roman summer with a jazz event. Since then Villa Celimontana has been chosen as the Jazz Villa and since 1995 it has entertained the long review "Jazz & Image", a demonstration which has been gaining increasing popularity year after year.

Villa Celimontana rises between the ruins of the Palatine and the Thermal baths of Caracalla located in a park of oaks and secular pines. At the end of the 1500, Ciriaco Mattei surrounded the Villa with an Italian style garden edged by marvellous plants and adorned by statues and works of classical art. Ciriaco, who was Rome true patron of the arts, reunited near the Villa many artists, poets and musician. An event still carried on today with the creation of this important festival.

The 2008 program of the festival will be available on-line in May.
